Founding Partner | Commercial Builders Insurance Agent (CBIA)

Lee Songer is a Founding Partner at GSP Insurance Group and a Commercial Builders Insurance Agent (CBIA) who helps business owners protect what they’ve worked hard to build. Based in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, Lee leads the firm’s Commercial Insurance division, working with clients across South Carolina, Georgia, and neighboring states — especially in construction, contracting, and hospitality.
Originally from Sullivan, Missouri, Lee’s career began far from the insurance world. After attending the University of Kansas (KU), he started out as an Assistant Golf Professional with the PGA of America, later becoming the youngest Finance Manager at Hilton Head Lexus. Those early roles taught him the importance of precision, service, and trust — traits that continue to shape how he approaches insurance today.
Known for his upbeat personality and genuine passion for helping others, Lee brings an uncommon level of detail and care to every client relationship. He takes time to truly understand how each business operates, then crafts coverage that fits like a glove. His favorite part of the process is “putting the puzzle pieces together” — designing smart, balanced programs that protect clients today and position them for long-term success.
He later joined a respected local agency in Beaufort County, where he built a reputation for going above and beyond for his clients. At GSP, Lee continues that mission, leading with integrity, education, and transparency — principles that drive the company’s commitment to being “A Partner for Your Journey.”
Together with Tyler Grizzle, Lee co-founded GSP Insurance Group to offer an alternative to high-volume, profit-driven agencies. Their shared Core Values — honesty, approachability, and putting people first — are reflected in every client interaction.
Outside of work, Lee is the definition of “serious insurance, relaxed dress code.” He enjoys golfing, pickleball, bourbon, and cooking, and loves spending time with friends, family, and his wife, Kaylee. When he’s not cheering on clients’ success, you’ll probably find him playing RuneScape or collecting Pokémon cards — still bringing that same energy and enthusiasm to everything he does.
